In her first public engagement since announcing her pregnancy in December, Kate Middleton visited the Action on Addiction center Hope House yesterday in South London. During her visit the Duchess of Cambridge opened up about her difficult morning sickness and bonded with one expectant mother, Natalie, who was receiving treatment at the center.
Natalie, 28, who is expecting her second child in July, just like the Duchess, shared her conversation with Kate with The Mirror. Natalie said: "We're due about the same time. She's been unwell and feeling better now and I felt pretty much the same the first time."
Speaking to the Duchess she said: "This is my road to recovery. When I was in addiction, my life was in complete darkness and then gets a lot brighter."
With Kate replying: "Well done to you for getting sober."
Afterwards Natalie said: "I've got to say I'm sober and clean. When I was in the darkness I never thought that would happen."
Kate’s visit was to raise awareness for the charity, of which the Duchess is patron, but the Kate’s beautiful appearance with her growing baby bump in a Max Mara wrap dress stole the show.
Chief Executive of the charity, Nick Barton said Kate was very well received by the women at the Center: "She was wonderful with the clients. They fell in love with her. They opened up to her.
"She's such an easy person that they were talking to her in a very comfortable way, and I think surprised themselves at how easy that she made it for them. She seemed in good spirits, in good health, and very comfortable."
