We have all heard about the Baby Blues and the more serious Post Partum Depression, but many times depression during pregnancy goes untreated and under the radar. Depression anytime can be serious matter, but new research now shows that it is very important, and not harmful, for depressed expecting mothers to get treatment.
Previous research showed that pregnant women who took SSRI antidepressants gave birth to smaller babies with hindered physical development. New research at Northwestern University showed that babies born to mothers who took SSRI antidepressants during pregnancy were the same height, weight and head circumference by the first year. The only different was infants were slightly shorter at birth, but the babies usually caught up to normal size in a few weeks.
Untreated depressed mothers are at risk for their appetite, nutrition, prenatal care and increased alcohol and drug use. Depression in mothers is also associated with premature birth and low infant birth rate, which increases the baby’s risk of heart disease.
The good news from this study is that pregnant women should not hesitate in seeking healthcare professionals to treat their depression and that antidepressants do not appear to pose the health risks once believed on developing infants.
Kim Kardashian made her pregnant mom fans feel a little better the other day by admitting on the Red Carpet of her new movie, Temptation, that’s she’s just as human as the rest of us with a bout of pregnancy fatigue to contend with:
“Being pregnant is not as easy as my sister made it look or as my mom has made it look. I like to be active ….but I’ve been chilling out. I took a week off, just to rest and it was amazing.”
We’re glad that Kim is taking care of herself first as we know she keeps a busy schedule. Pregnancy is a good time to slow down and listen to your body. If you feel tired and run down, take some extra rest. Overall you may need to adjust your routine for less stress and more R&R. You deserve it and it’s good for the baby!
The nursing bra tank is one of Bravado’s most popular and best selling item. There is a good reason for this too with its many features. It is made of 100% cotton and utilizes the Bravado specially patened CottonFlex fabric which keeps the skin cool and dry without reducing flexibility or movement.

A simple plastic clip on the shoulder strap allows you to easily gain access to nursing your baby in record time, and, comfortably too!
The skirt botton comes down to the hip and has enough Spandex in it to keep it snug and comfortable.
The Bravado Nursing Bra Tank is available in eight colors at TummyStyle.com at only $44.10. And, now with the 20OFFSPRING coupon code for 20% off all items, the final cost is only $35.28!! It won’t get any cheaper than that anywhere on the internet!

In her first public engagement since announcing her pregnancy in December, Kate Middleton visited the Action on Addiction center Hope House yesterday in South London. During her visit the Duchess of Cambridge opened up about her difficult morning sickness and bonded with one expectant mother, Natalie, who was receiving treatment at the center.
Natalie, 28, who is expecting her second child in July, just like the Duchess, shared her conversation with Kate with The Mirror. Natalie said: “We’re due about the same time. She’s been unwell and feeling better now and I felt pretty much the same the first time.”
Speaking to the Duchess she said: “This is my road to recovery. When I was in addiction, my life was in complete darkness and then gets a lot brighter.”
With Kate replying: “Well done to you for getting sober.”
Afterwards Natalie said: “I’ve got to say I’m sober and clean. When I was in the darkness I never thought that would happen.”
Kate’s visit was to raise awareness for the charity, of which the Duchess is patron, but the Kate’s beautiful appearance with her growing baby bump in a Max Mara wrap dress stole the show.
Chief Executive of the charity, Nick Barton said Kate was very well received by the women at the Center: “She was wonderful with the clients. They fell in love with her. They opened up to her.
“She’s such an easy person that they were talking to her in a very comfortable way, and I think surprised themselves at how easy that she made it for them. She seemed in good spirits, in good health, and very comfortable.”
Singer Fergie, 37, and husband actor Josh Duhamel, 40, announced via Twitter on Feb 18th that they are expecting their first child this summer. “Josh & Me & Baby makes three!!!” she tweeted. Josh‘s new romantic film Safe Haven which he costars with Julianne Hough as his love interest is currently in theatres!
We look forward to plenty of fashion forward maternity clothes styles by Fergie this Spring during her pregnancy. All the best to the happy couple during this exciting time!
The Prego Maternity Swimwear Laguna Halter Baby Doll is a colorful variation on the classic baby doll currently sold by TummyStyle.com in basic black and brown.
The blue and aquamarine color of the tropical flowers with their yellow accents is calm and elicits a feeling of being on a Hawaiian Island lounging about while the ocean waves lap at your feet and the cool breeze plays with your hair.
Like all the baby dolls, this maternity swimsuit has a longer top skirt that provides more than sufficient coverage across the top of the bell and then down below the bikini bottoms.
The extra wide straps are adjustable and provides some of the best bust support you will find anywhere. The cups are lightly padded. There is more than enough room at the skirt to allow for your ever expanding belly — even at the 9 month mark!
Who says a maternity jean must be boring? Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you have to wear a pair of jeans with those awful cutout panels that go over your belly. Instead, look to the Maternal America Skinny Ankle Maternity Jeans in their great turquoise color. Put these pants on and people will wonder if you really are pregnant because they fit so well!
They fit under your belly the same as the ever popular Maternal America Megan Jeans and have a wide elastic waist band to keep them from falling down. Unlike other jeans, these pair are so comfortable that you will never want to take them off.
The pant legs taper down at the ankle to give that nice fitted and slenderizing look. Pair with a nice baby cap T-shirt and you are ready to hit the town with your girlfriends.
What’s more, many of our customers like these jeans so much that they continue to wear them even after their pregnancy. It’s really hard to tell that that you were wearing them while pregnant.
At $92, they are a bargain and most likely will never make it to the laundry basket!
