New from Prego Maternity is the LuLu Strapless Mini. It comes in a Betsy Johnson inspired print with with a black and white fluer de lis and flower pattern. The pattern works really well to hide your belly. It’s really attractive and makes the suit look like it should cost well over twice its price!

Kate hoping for a Boy, William wants a Girl!

Despite what seemed to be a slip of the tongue a few weeks ago (implying a royal daughter was on the way), the Duchess of Cambridge said Sunday that she did not know the sex of her child and actually hopes it is a boy. She says her husband, Prince William, would prefer a girl. This revelation was made to a soldier during a St. Patick’s Day ceremony honoring the Irish Guards.

Kate is 5 months pregnant but claims she does not know the baby’s gender yet and it appears she will not find out until the birth of her child, just to keep everyone guessing! It was also revealed that the couple had not decided on names yet for their baby who will be third in line for the British throne.

Due to a change in policy for royal succession, Kate and William’s firstborn will succeed to the throne ahead of any future siblings, regardless of gender. In the past, the first male child was given precedence over birth order. These reforms were announced in October 2011 and agreed upon by the commonwealth nations. Finally gender equality in the modern monarchy!

Maternal America Skinny Ankle Maternity Jeans

Who says a maternity jean must be boring? Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you have to wear a pair of jeans with those awful cutout panels that go over your belly. Instead, look to the Maternal America Skinny Ankle Maternity Jeans in their great turquoise color. Put these pants on and people will wonder if you really are pregnant because they fit so well!

They fit under your belly the same as the ever popular Maternal America Megan Jeans and have a wide elastic waist band to keep them from falling down. Unlike other jeans, these pair are so comfortable that you will never want to take them off.

The pant legs taper down at the ankle to give that nice fitted and slenderizing look. Pair with a nice baby cap T-shirt and you are ready to hit the town with your girlfriends.

What’s more, many of our customers like these jeans so much that they continue to wear them even after their pregnancy. It’s really hard to tell that that you were wearing them while pregnant.

At $92, they are a bargain and most likely will never make it to the laundry basket!

Bikini Thief Maternity Swimwear New At TummyStyle.com!!

This hip and happening brand is worn by famous celebrities all over the world and is now made for maternity too! The owner/designer of Bikini Thief, Whitney Anderson, comes from a family of boat captains and fisherman in Cape Cod and the island of Martha’s Vineyard. With this lovely ocean backdrop and idealic childhood she has weaved together a tapestry of colors and patterns that are not only beautiful fabrics but designed to fit your curves with comfort and style.

Cover model Kate Upton recently rocked the Classic Bikini Thief striped sailor style. This French classic style never gets old or goes out of style. Thin sideways stripes bring out the inner beauty in this suit as well as its model. For maternity, sideways stripes, as opposed to wide horizontal stripes are flattering and slimming.

Megan Fox was also spotted seaside recently in the Bikini Thief Zuma style which sports a solid black bottom and thin black and white stripe bikini top with ruffle detailing. Mixing and matching solid bottoms with patterned tops is a popular style now and a fun way to mix up your collection for a whole new look. Buy some basic black and chocolate bottoms and go for it with your bikini tops!

Kate Bosworth is also a Bikini Thief fan. She was recently spotted knee deep in the ocean in the Sayulita Suit. This suit also features a cute black and white stripe design with a cute vintage style sweetheart bikini top and hipster bottoms.

Typically a top selling designer, who tips their toe into maternity swimwear, may make a misstep or two before getting it right for right maternity cut and fit. This is not the case for Bikini Thief. We were thoroughly impressed with the quality, detailing and fit of these maternity suits, including superior built in bust support with seamless shelf bras and overall support and comfort in the design. Here are a few of the styles we liked best:

Among the Maternity Collection for Bikini Thief, a personal favorite is the Mal Pais. This suit makes a statement with a bold and playful seaweed pattern in either royal blue and black or coral and black. This two piece maternity Tankini has a gold metal ring at the top of each fully linked cup. The back features thick criss-cross straps that have adjustable buttons at the base of each strap in the back. The bikini brief bottoms are fully lined with full coverage in the back.

A super romantic style is Bikini Thief’s Pisces Dream that comes in both bright pink and grey fish pattern and citrine yellow and grey fish pattern. This maternity two-piece tankini is truly dreamy. It features a gathering in the center for a sweetheart style accented with striped detail. Adjustable striped straps that match the bottom design go over the shoulders and the bra is fully lined for extra support. The sides of the stop have adjustable ruched edges with stripe ties on the sides. The striped bottoms have an extra support belly band and are fully lined with full coverage in the back. Pisces Dream is an elegant and beautiful style with fantastic fit and function.

The Asian infused style of the St. Bart’s two-piece maternity tankini comes in both bright red and black coral embroidered flower design or the inverse of black with red coral flower design. Either way, the colors and pattern is stunning. Both color choices are made the same with a gathered center top and fully lined shelf bra with wide comfortable criss-cross straps in the back. Adjustable buttons are at the back of each strap in the back so that you can truly swim with support and without fear in this suit! The bikini brief bottoms are a solid color and are fully lined with full coverage in the back. This suit will be your go-to suit throughout your pregnancy!

Kate Deals with Severe Morning Sickness

Although we would like to say congratulations are in order for the Duchess of Cambridge and her husband Prince William, it seems it may be a long 9 months of pregnancy for the royal couple with their recent announcement of Kate’s pregnancy along with severe morning sickness. Kate was said to be on the mend and “feeling better” Tuesday after her second day in a London hospital, according to the statement from St. James Palace.

Kate is believed to be only in her first trimester, possibly around 8 weeks pregnant, and this announcement is undoubtedly much sooner than they would like. However, the strong outpouring of support for the Duchess may be just what they need to deal with what could be a very challenging pregnancy ahead for Kate. Her condition, diagnosed as hyperemesis gravidarum, affects about 1 in 50 women who are expecting. The symptoms are severe vomiting that can last for the full duration of the pregnancy and may lead to dehydration if not treated. Kate is reportedly on an IV drip and taking pills to combat the nausea while she is on a “period of rest” at home.

Although severe morning sickness, as in Kate’s condition, can be serious for the mother and baby if the mother is very dehydrated (some people with this condition can vomit 30 times a day), if treated effectively with fluids and anti nausea medication, the majority of mothers go on to have healthy full term babies. There is even some studies showing that there are fewer miscarriages and preterm labor among women who have nausea and vomiting during pregnancy (although plenty of women experience no queasiness at all and go on to have delightful healthy pregnancies and babies).

Most studies do not explain why nausea in pregnancy can be sign of a healthy pregnancy although it is linked to higher levels of pregnancy hormones such as estrogen and hCG during pregnancy. There is also a slightly greater likelihood of twins with women with greater nausea and vomiting during pregnancy.

The Duke of Cambridge is “immensely grateful for the good wishes they have received” his spokesman said. No doubt Kate’s condition will raise awareness of extreme morning sickness during pregnancy.

William, 30, is second in line for the throne after his father, Prince Charles. William’s first child, whether it’s a boy or a girl, would be third in line to become the monarch under the new rules. This baby would be the first grandchild for Prince Charles and the third great grandchild for Queen Elizabeth.

We wish Kate all the best with the rest of her pregnancy and hopefully some relief as she is treated effectively by her doctors and receives plenty of TLC from friends, family and her many well-wishers.

Jessica Simpson Pregnant With Baby Number 2!

Yes, Jessica Simpson is indeed pregnant again with her second child, just seven months after welcoming daughter Maxwell. She also managed to lose 60 pounds of babyweight following her pregnancy while on a healthy diet and collecting $4 million from a Weight Watchers are their celebrity sponsor. I would say all in all she had a very productive 7 months!

Many people might think, wow, what a waste to lose all that weight just to gain it back again in another pregnancy. However, Dieticians and Obstetrians would disagree since starting her pregnancy at a lower heathy weight gives her a far greater chance of a healthy pregnancy and a healthy baby. Just by getting her body in the healthy weight range she has lowered her change of gestational diabetes and preclasmia. Also, I’m sure her hard work will not be thrown out the window during this pregnancy as she will no doubt be exercising more and paying more attention to her diet and pregnancy weight gain.

One of the things I love about Jessica Simpson is that she is so down to earth. We know friends all the time (maybe even ourselves) who gain more the recommended weight during pregnancy or who get pregnant unexpectantly or very quickly after having a baby. Jessica is not above admitting all of these things happen to her as well and she just seems to take it in stride with a smile and a sense of humor, showing us that she is the “girl next door.”

I expect Jessica will have a beautiful and fun pregnancy and I look forward to following her maternity fashion choices. We wish her and her family all the best!
