Vanity Fair Names Kate Middleton “Best Dressed Pregnant Lady”

Kate Middleton recently topped Vanity Fair’s Best-Dressed Pregnant Ladies list, which was not a big surprise considering her flawless and varied pregnancy fashion. This new list is part of Vanity Fair’s International Best-Dressed Challenge. Vanity Fair explains their choice of Middleton:

“At every life stage—courtship, marriage, and now pregnancy—her classic, insta-iconic pieces have inspired and influenced the wardrobes of sweethearts, brides, and mothers-to-be, respectively. The duchess conceals her (bare minimum of a) bump with three-quarter-length coats and short skirts that also help to draw attention to enviably still-svelte stems.”

Some pretty fancy wordage which we interpret as meaning she dresses well and looks good!

Although we loved Kate’s parade of stylish cross over buttoned coats and patterned tights, we look forward to her spring dress selections as her bump grows. I’m sure she will continue to deserve her top ranking for International Best Dressed Pregnant Ladies!

Halle Berry Stuns in Black Cut Out Maternity Gown!

Halle Berry does not seem like an expecting mom of “advanced maternal age” at 46 as she is looking positively glowing with her growing baby bump. She has been recently promoting her film in Brazil in a number of figure-hugging outfits which show off her growing bump. She and fiancé Olivier Martinez will welcome a child, rumored to be a boy, later this year.

Halle looked gorgeous at the South American premiere of her film in a black cut-out maternity gown with spider web lace accented on the sides. Her film, a thriller with Brad Anderson and Abigail Breslin recently hit theatres.

“I feel fantastic. This has been the biggest surprise of my life to tell you the truth,” Halle told CNN a few weeks ago.

“I thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it’s been a big surprise and the most wonderful.”

Berry’s next project will be the much anticipated sequel of X-Men: Days of Future Past.

We look forward to seeing more of Halle’s gorgeous maternity style!

Maternal America Eva Maternity Swimwear

There is nothing more trendy than the Maternal America Eva Maternity Swimwear this season. The French style navy stripes look like something right off the Paris runway. The thin navy stripes against the white background makes a real presence. Not only that, but the thin lines break up any edges and have a real slimming effect.

The bottoms are a navy that matches the navy stripes. The bottoms tie at the sides which allow for adjustability throughout the pregnancy. They sit just below the belly and are very comfortable.

The top can also work well as a strapless (as long as you aren’t too busty!). Just untie the halter string and make a bow on the front. The sides at the bust have a semi-stiff stays which do add in some more support.

Overall, this is one of the hottest and best selling maternity swimsuits of the season. Great styling and fashion to keep you looking great throughout your pregnancy!

Maternity Clothes Of Women In 1595

Here’s a painting by Marcus Gheeraerts II called “Portrait of an Unknown Lady.” It’s a nice example of a royalty in a maternity dress. The woman’s outfit is elegantly embellished in pearls on top of embellished lace. A structual bodice most likely provides a puffout of the sleeves. It was likely made out of silk or a fine cotton and took months to sew.

It is interesting to see a bit of uplift on the bra and the lady obviously needed a bit of extra support as is evidented by the four thin straps that likely go over the shoulders.

The Dutch style collar would have been uncomfortable but stylish for the period. The hairband pushed the hair into a heart shape. Her hair has added jewels most likely pearls and a rubies. Since there was no lipstick at the time, she would have used crushed red coral, but, seeing as the artist could make any modifications, he would have painted her lips a brighter red.

Guessing by her size, she’s probably third trimester and would have had an awful time standing for such a long time. More likely is that her dress was put on a form  (or a stand in person) and she sat on a chair when the time came to paint her face and hands.

The artistry is very magnificent and shows a skill of white on grey to express depth and contour. Overall, it’s a really beautiful dress but probably not all comfortable. A really nice show piece.

Kim Kardashian Admits The Celebrity Pregnancy Is Not always As Easy As It Looks!

Kim Kardashian made her pregnant mom fans feel a little better the other day by admitting on the Red Carpet of her new movie, Temptation, that’s she’s just as human as the rest of us with a bout of pregnancy fatigue to contend with:

“Being pregnant is not as easy as my sister made it look or as my mom has made it look. I like to be active ….but I’ve been chilling out. I took a week off, just to rest and it was amazing.”

We’re glad that Kim is taking care of herself first as we know she keeps a busy schedule. Pregnancy is a good time to slow down and listen to your body. If you feel tired and run down, take some extra rest. Overall you may need to adjust your routine for less stress and more R&R. You deserve it and it’s good for the baby!

Maternal America Maternity Halter Top

The new Maternal America maternity halter top is incredibly stylish in a tribal inspired orange, black and white print.

The halter tie top shows off the shoulders and comes down just below the colar. The fabric and lines of the pattern create a really nice slimming effect. The stretchy material will keep up with your growing belly and not bind or grab.

Wear it with jeans or pants. Pair it with a skirt and wear around the office. Put it on and go out on a date with your husband!

Comes in XS to Large and is priced at $78.00. Made in the USA.

Kate Rocks Her Bump!

In her first public engagement since announcing her pregnancy in December, Kate Middleton visited the Action on Addiction center Hope House yesterday in South London. During her visit the Duchess of Cambridge opened up about her difficult morning sickness and bonded with one expectant mother, Natalie, who was receiving treatment at the center.

Natalie, 28, who is expecting her second child in July, just like the Duchess, shared her conversation with Kate with The Mirror. Natalie said: “We’re due about the same time. She’s been unwell and feeling better now and I felt pretty much the same the first time.”

Speaking to the Duchess she said: “This is my road to recovery. When I was in addiction, my life was in complete darkness and then gets a lot brighter.”

With Kate replying: “Well done to you for getting sober.”

Afterwards Natalie said: “I’ve got to say I’m sober and clean. When I was in the darkness I never thought that would happen.”

Kate’s visit was to raise awareness for the charity, of which the Duchess is patron, but the Kate’s beautiful appearance with her growing baby bump in a Max Mara wrap dress stole the show.

Chief Executive of the charity, Nick Barton said Kate was very well received by the women at the Center: “She was wonderful with the clients. They fell in love with her. They opened up to her.

“She’s such an easy person that they were talking to her in a very comfortable way, and I think surprised themselves at how easy that she made it for them. She seemed in good spirits, in good health, and very comfortable.”

Maternal America Skinny Ankle Maternity Jeans

Who says a maternity jean must be boring? Just because you are pregnant doesn’t mean you have to wear a pair of jeans with those awful cutout panels that go over your belly. Instead, look to the Maternal America Skinny Ankle Maternity Jeans in their great turquoise color. Put these pants on and people will wonder if you really are pregnant because they fit so well!

They fit under your belly the same as the ever popular Maternal America Megan Jeans and have a wide elastic waist band to keep them from falling down. Unlike other jeans, these pair are so comfortable that you will never want to take them off.

The pant legs taper down at the ankle to give that nice fitted and slenderizing look. Pair with a nice baby cap T-shirt and you are ready to hit the town with your girlfriends.

What’s more, many of our customers like these jeans so much that they continue to wear them even after their pregnancy. It’s really hard to tell that that you were wearing them while pregnant.

At $92, they are a bargain and most likely will never make it to the laundry basket!
